Review:

Twelve songs and forty something minutes is the duration of bluesman, David Wall’s album. Black Hen Music/Ontario Arts Council finance this diversified, well written LP. Ken Whiteley handles the brilliant production. ‘Have No Fear’ is superbly written, describing a reason and place for all in life. The production is somber, yet lively; it is truly unique, weird and awesome.

Approach this without preconceptions and it will hook you deep. Wall is a Toronto based musical polymath who’s worked widely and led his own Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band for a while. No wonder he has the cream of Toronto players on this, plus Ken Whiteley producing.

Review:

It's been 13 years since David Wall last put out a solo album, but he's hardly been idle. The local singer-songwriter has composed music for films, TV shows and video installations, sung with The Flying Bulgur Klezmer Band, played with jazz pianist Marilyn Lerner, studied to be a cantor and learned Yiddish, among other projects.
