""Another big winner for Vancouver bluesman Jim Byrnes, again working in tandem with multi-instrumentalist/ producer Steve Dawson. This has strong Southern gospel currents and features local gospel trio The Sojourners--Marcus Mosely, Will Sanders and Ron Small--throughout. This is richly textured stuff from the Byrnes penned "Of Whom Shall I Be Afraid" and the chilling "Running Out of Time" to the deep groove of Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey's "Today." And check his contemplative reading of Nick Lowe's "The Beast in Me." This is one fine record.
